"Self Preservation" is about the struggles I’ve endured over the years that have started to creep up on me emotionally, mentally and physically. There hit a point where I just couldn’t take life anymore and decided that I needed to re-focus my attention on myself and what is best for me and my mental health. This song applies to everyone because at one point or another in a persons life there comes a time when we need to re-center ourselves and focus on what’s best for us so that we may provide love to others. Without love for ourselves we cannot love one another.
